the basics

Welcome to our accredited pedicure course, a good starting point for nail technicians wanting to branch out their services and increase their income.

A spa pedicure is not just a beauty treatment; it's a holistic experience that focuses on pampering and enhancing the health of the feet. Unlike manicures, feet often encounter more issues due to constant weight-bearing, pressure, and exposure to various environments. Therefore, providing a professional spa pedicure involves more than just aesthetic improvement; it addresses concerns such as calluses and dry, cracked skin.

By mastering this course, technicians develop the essential skills necessary for a strong foothold in the nail care industry. It instills the fundamental techniques, precision, and hygiene practices crucial for foot care. Getting these basics down ensures a solid understanding of nail health and hygiene, setting the stage for subsequent specialised courses.

A good pedicure is a valuable and marketable asset to any nail technicians portfolio.

course structure

The course takes place over 1 day, usually finishing in the early afternoon.

At 9am learners meet at the salon and our first task is theory work - manuals will be sent to students prior to the course and they are expected to have read this.

The theory is a mixed bag of short presentations, quizzes, and open discussion about nail and foot anatomy, client care and health and hygiene.

Mid morning we move onto a practical demonstration and students will be shown from start to finish a pedicure service, including a traditional polish.

By the afternoon students will start with their practical activity and with guidance and support will perform a pedicure on a model. Students should provide the model themselves however if this is not possible a model may be acquired for you. After an open ended review and discussion students will be presented with their certificates!
